Handvela's brief starts with a familiar problem: hands that get washed often, and a moisturizer you want to reach for again.
Handvela started with a complaint we kept hearing from the people we know who work with their hands — a nurse, a line cook, a new parent, a climber. Their hands were wrecked. Not from one harsh winter, but from washing: soap, water, sanitiser, repeat, all day.
They all owned hand cream. They just never used it. The rich ones felt good for a minute and then left a film they couldn't work with — you can't chart a patient or plate a dish with slick hands. So the tube stayed in a bag, and the hands stayed raw.
The formulation brief is simple: target a light daytime feel with humectants and emollients. That is a design choice, not proof that rich creams are worse or that Handvela absorbs in a certain number of seconds. The final manufactured INCI and finished-product performance still need confirmation.
